    Layers of Governance

There are three layers of governance in our multi-academy Trust.

LWCET is governed by its Trust Board of Directors, which is the legal and accountable body. The Board determines delegation through the Scheme of Delegation.

The Local Governance Committees (LGC) provide local monitoring, insight and assurance and report into the Trust's assurance arrangements. LGC work normally takes place through full LGC meetings rather than standing subcommittees.

Section 2: Current  Members and Directors

    Our Members

Members’ statutory responsibilities are set out in the Articles of Association and their role includes: appointing and removing the MAT Trustees, calling an annual general meeting, appointing the MAT auditors and receiving the annual accounts and directing the Trustees to take specific actions.

Trustees take decisions that are in the best interests of the MAT as a whole and are not representative of any one of the constituent schools. The Trustees are also Directors of the Trust which is a company limited by guarantee and registered as such at Companies House.

Current Local Governance Committees at our schools

Local Governance Committees operate under a Scheme of Delegation which is determined by the Trustees. Each local governance committee is responsible for monitoring the educational standards and the ethos and values in each of our academies. Local governance committees include governors who are appointed by the Diocese as well as parent governors, the headteacher and a staff governor.

Visit each of our school’s websites to find further information about local governance.

It should clearly identify relevant interests and use an explicit None declared entry where no relevant interests exist.

Blank fields and TBC entries should not remain on the published register.

The Trust’s central governance register should remain the source record.
